The City of Pacific has three Community Improvement Districts (CIDs) in the City limits. Viaduct CID was the first CID created in the City and includes much of the commercial area north of Interstate 44. Osage Commercial Area (now referred to as West Osage CID) was the second CID, followed by East Osage CID. The CIDs were generally established to generate revenue for road improvements within the district, primarily Viaduct Street and Thornton Road (Viaduct CID) and Osage Street / Route 66 (W. Osage and E. Osage CIDs). A 1-cent sales tax is imposed on retail sales at business located within the CID district boundaries. Further information on each CID can be found here.
