Preparedness

Disasters disrupt hundreds of thousands of lives yearly. Each disaster has lasting effects, both to people and property. Being prepared can greatly reduce the impact a disaster will have on you and your family as well as empower you and provide you with confidence when faced with an emergency situation

When disaster occurs, many believe that help will arrive within hours, but this may not always be possible. Our first responders may not be able to reach you immediately, or they may need to focus their efforts elsewhere. For this reason, you should be ready to be self-sufficient for at least three days. This may mean providing for your own shelter, first aid, food, water and sanitation

Help us to make preparedness personal by following the three steps below and encourage your friends and family to do the same! Please click on the each step to learn more about what you can do!

Step 1: Make a Plan

Step 2: Build an Emergency Kit

Step 3: Be informed
