Police issue warning over counterfeit bills
The Pacific Police Department wants to alert citizens of counterfeit money being passed in this area. At times these bills are hard to spot, because the suspects are using a method of bleaching a bill out, and re-printing over it. For example, they will take a $5 bill, bleach it out, and re-print it as a $50. If you use a marker on the bill testing the paper, it will show that it is a good bill. Taking a flashlight to it and checking the water spots and hidden pictures, you will see it is a counterfeit. If you should receive a suspected US currency, contact the Pacific Police Department right away, or the Franklin County Sheriff's office for those outside the city limits.
